Looking Local
Looking Local, co-owned by Kirklees Council (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire), creates innovative, cost-effective digital platforms that are transforming the public sector in the UK.
Looking Local are working with over 30% of Adult Social Care-responsible local authorities, including trailblazer Blackpool Council, to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming reform.
We are responsible for developing BetterCare Finance (financial assessments for care) and BetterCare Support (care and support assessments - CSA). Both products are fully digital, focusing on end-users and giving them the ability to completely self-serve their Financial and CSA assessments. These products are delivering measurable financial and efficiency savings for multiple local authorities across the country and provide the ability to keep pace with the expected significant increase in assessments with the forthcoming reforms.
Working alongside these platforms, we are currently underway with a Independent Personal Budget (IPB) and Care Cap Account cofund, all led by Halton, Kirklees, Lincolnshire and Walsall. These councils are co-designing a digital solution to generate an end-user’s independent personal budget (IPB) and associated self service digital care cap account, which the council and the service user can rely on in terms of the incoming Adult Social Care funding reforms.
